Effortless Aquaria was founded by Greg Hammond in 1999 with the idea of creating a rental aquarium business that offered a reliable service similar to indoor plant hire companies. It was soon realised that the addition of aquarium installation and maintenance would create a company that was an all-round provider of aquarium services.
Our Director Michael Woods has been keeping fish and studying marine ecosystems from an early age which led to a natural progression into the aquarium industry as a profession. He began working closely with Greg from 2011, taking over service and maintenance while studying for his Bachelor of Business at CSU. He graduated in 2012 and soon after bought the business.
Effortless Aquaria has refined superior techniques for aquarium maintenance applying years of study, experience and passion. It is today an innovative industry leader in live coral aquaculture processes – an exclusive component of saltwater aquariums. Our knowledge of setting up live coral housing systems has been sought by a broad range of industries including universities.
Effortless Aquaria has also assisted the Pet Industry Association of Australia (PIAA) develop the curriculum for the TAFE industry training course.
